Having a vision, passion and inspiration is great – but it is not enough to make a difference. In order to create effective plans for achieving our equity goals, Women in Power Systems is assembling an Advisory Board of power industry experts.
The Women in Power Systems Advisory Board will provide the expert knowledge, insights and guidance for our advocacy campaigns and other projects. Our Board Members are passionate about realizing WPS goals and volunteer their time, advice and connections to advance the WPS mission. New members are welcome regardless of gender or profession, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the power industry.
Part of Women in Power Systems is not only to encourage and build women up and give them a voice, but also to advocate for more women in this industry. That is something that we really want to push forward and encourage women to look at the power industry as an option.
– Rachel Linke, Advisory Board Chair
We are proud to present our first three Board Members:
- Elise Arnold, Project Manager – MPT at Starkstrom-Gerätebau GmbH
- Traci N. Hopkins, CRL, Membership Recruitment Coordinator at Electric Power Reliability Alliance
- Aleezeh Shahid, Senior Analyst and Power Grid Research Team Lead Power Technology Research
Guided by the advice of dedicated experts with experience in our industry, we will continue working on improving our advocacy efforts and advancing our goals. Our vision? A power industry as a place of equal opportunity and fruitful collaboration, where an organization like Women in Power Systems is no longer necessary and equity is something we don’t even have to talk about any more.
