During interviews led by Javiera McGuiggan, Head of Bioindustrials at Cargill and Executive Editorial Board member at APC Media, we had the opportunity to speak with three women leading the way in their fields: Carmen Low, Elena Nogueira, and Najd Nasser Eddin.
Carmen Low, Business Development Manager at Comemde, shared her long-standing connection with the event.
“This event has been a consistent and rewarding experience for over a decade as the main and premier key gathering for industry players to meet, collaborate, and stay informed about trends and news.”
Elena Nogueira from Repsol echoed that experience, noting both her company’s and her personal commitment to attending.
“It is my fifth year personally,” she said. “Coil Winding Berlin is a really good opportunity for us to get to know each other, including competitors and clients, and to share insights on market growth and new developments.” Both Carmen and Elena emphasized the value of the meetings that take place at the show—citing them as essential for building collaboration, finding smarter solutions, and staying ahead of new trends.
While Elena Nogueira acknowledges the challenges currently facing the industry, she also saw them as “new opportunities.” For her, one of the main priorities is Repsol’s strong commitment to sustainability and compliance, particularly with European regulations. She sees innovation in bioproducts as a key part of the path forward:
“Keep growing in innovation and bio products,” she said, stressing the importance of flexibility and responsiveness to shifting market and client needs.
Najd Nasser Eddin from PTR offered a clear view of the industry’s pain points:
“In general, sourcing components and the talent gap, I think, are the biggest challenges,” she said.
Carmen Low also pointed to critical supply issues in the transformer sector.
“Lead time and supply, lagging demand,” she explained, remain persistent problems, especially as electrical demand rises globally. It’s a shared struggle across the field, with many in search of practical solutions.
It’s encouraging to see industry events like Coil Winding Berlin 2025 highlighting the leadership of women in power and power systems. Carmen, Elena, and Najd are not only tackling some of the toughest challenges in the sector—they’re doing so with insight, clarity, and a drive that continues to shape the future of energy.
